【Mouse Recommendation】BTL Thunder Shark

[Mouse Recommendation] BTL Thunder Shark#

Precautions#

If you don't like perforated mice, please close this article directly!

Main Text#

Appearance#

This mouse is very similar to the FinalMouse Starlight 12 overall, but also different, because FinalMouse used a magnesium alloy material for the shell to "reduce weight," which is impressive and gimmicky. Of course, the price on Taobao is also sky-high (You bought a mouse for 4800 RMB?)
In comparison, although the BTL Thunder Shark is made of plastic, the overall texture is not worse than the FinalMouse. At the same time, the weight of 59 grams also directly hits the hearts of lightweight mouse enthusiasts.

Accessories#

After opening the package, besides the user manual, there is the mouse itself, USB receiver, USB-to-TypeC charging cable, and TypeC-to-USB adapter. At first, I was puzzled. Isn't this a redundant operation? I bought a wireless mouse, and then the receiver needs to be connected with a cable?
But after using it, I realized I was wrong. Because of the special nature of this mouse (leaning towards competitive tuning), it needs to achieve the lowest latency. Therefore, the manual suggests that the wireless receiver should be no more than 5-10 cm away from the mouse (yes, centimeters), in order to achieve the lowest latency.
As for the cable, BTL is known for its classic paracord cable, which has received positive reviews. During the previous fervor of changing mouse cables, the cables were made by this master. So using this mouse as a wired mouse is completely fine.

Experience#

In terms of user experience, the wireless experience is very satisfying, with extremely low latency, making it indistinguishable from a wired mouse. The design of the mold is a symmetrical design similar to the FK, and the keycap cover has shallow guide grooves, making it quite comfortable.
The copy I have here has TTC dustproof golden microswitches, with a key lifespan of 80 million clicks, and a quick and crisp rebound. The original microswitches are also good, but compared to the TTC dustproof golden ones, they are stiffer and require more force to press, which may strain the hand after prolonged use.
Of course, the drawbacks are also very obvious. The 500mAh battery leads to a very poor battery life (it could be just my copy or my usage method), often requiring charging once a day. However, in all fairness, charging every 3-4 days should be a more reasonable level.
The PixArt 3370 sensor of this mouse is also well-tuned, with the ability to compete with SteelSeries' TrueMove.
The driver is a bit difficult to find. Here, I'll provide a download link first. The driver settings are relatively standard, including lighting, sensitivity, and key settings. By the way, if you find that you can't adjust the DPI without installing the driver after receiving the mouse, please install the driver, as this may be a hardware bug.

Conclusion#

I made a deal with Mtongsh and got the Eternal Blue version with TTC dustproof golden microswitches for 280 RMB. The mass-produced version is priced at 429 RMB for the matcha powder/white color and 469 RMB for the Eternal Blue (to be frank, this is the best-looking color scheme for this mouse). Although I bought it at a relatively cheap price, I believe that with the capabilities of this mouse, as long as you don't mind the perforations, this mouse is a beast and there is no possible opponent for it, not even the first generation of the GPW can compare to this mouse.
